The Magic of Chinese Medicine

We posted a quote earlier this week, that says this:

We just love this quote. It resonates strongly with us because it speaks to the importance of having a solid understanding of the current and past health of patients. It also speaks to how the same diseases can affect people so very differently. It’s pretty much the foundation of our philosophy personally, but it’s also Chinese Medicine in a nutshell.

It’s a quote that is so relevant in Chinese Medicine and we feel honoured and fortunate to be practising a medicine that puts so much emphasis on the uniqueness of each person.

Not only do we ask a large bunch of questions when you come in, we are also observing and palpating (taking your pulse) to build on our understanding of your health.

We want to know YOU, not just your disease, as well as knowing where your imbalances lie

Let’s Look at an Example

We might have three ladies come in who have been diagnosed with Endometriosis.

After a detailed initial appointment finding out things like the nature of the pain, the type of periods the woman has, and how their digestive systems are functioning -  we will have three very different pictures & three different plans, all tailored to meet the individual woman's symptoms.

These pictures are more important than the label of ‘Endometriosis’ as they guide the diagnosis and necessary treatment for you as an individual!

Of course, having an official diagnosis like Endometriosis can be extremely overdue and relieving too!

In Chinese Medicine - we don't stop there.

We also see patterns in clients. Interestingly, these clients might all have different diseases but their treatment is quite similar.

Importance has been placed on the person, rather than the disease.
